Carl's Pre-purchase inspections are invaluable. I had been looking at a extremely tidy looking 8 year old 'NZ new' car with a full dealership service history and I almost bought it without a professional inspection. But luckily I asked Carl to do an inspection and he identified rust issues and saved me a lot of time/money/hassle. Following this he inspected another car which I was able to buy with confidence after seeing his very thorough inspection report. I have in the past put a car I was selling through a AA pre-purchase inspection for a potential buyer and their inspection far inferior to the INCAR inspection.

Had a wonderful experience with Carl's inspection service yesterday. Long story short, Carl inspected 2 vehicles in total, at 2 different locations. The 1st vehicle has an major issue, he stop the inspection immediately & did not charge a full payment. He even go the extra mile for me to inspect the 2nd vehicle at the other location dispite his busy schedule. Carl is very honest. I choose option 2 EV inspection, however when he found a major issue with the vehicle he stop the inspection immediately. I believe others might have gone through the entire inspection & let you know after together with a full payment. Carl was able to come the next day for the battery pre-purchase inspection for the Toyota Aqua Hybrid I was looking at. He not only gave the battery a very comprehensive test but also a quick check of the transmission, brakes and high voltage components under the bonnet. He emailed an in depth report the following day and charged a very reasonable rate for his services. He was very helpful with advice and explaining how things work as I hadn't driven a hybrid before. Although an older car the battery was in very good condition and therefore the fuel economy should be as expected. Being a Toyota I wasn't so worried about mechanical maintenance costs. I have bought the car and am very happy with it. I would highly recommend Carl.

Absolutely amazing service that Carl provides. Good quality photos, in-depth testing, solid communication.. you won't be disappointed with his inspections!!! For anyone reading this, he does check for absolutely anything he is able to find wrong with the car and I received over 500 photos including thermal imaging of the AC vents! Wow! Comprehensive battery checks, paint checks to see if the car has been in a crash, checks I didn't even know existed. He took my call on a Saturday and performed the inspection the following Monday. I’m in Wellington and was recently looking to purchase a hybrid from Auckland because of the wider range available. I saw a few sparkling reviews for Carl so booked him in for the full EV pre-purchase inspection. He organised this with the private seller quickly. I asked Carl to do one of his 'mid-level' ($335) inspections on a second-hand Prius Alpha. He found time to fit this in within two days, and provided an extremely thorough inspection report in the wee hours of the morning (note: Carl probably needs to sleep more). The report included literally hundreds of photos, separate reports on different car systems, and most usefully, a summary inspection report outlining his findings that highlighted a couple of very minor things that the dealer should sort out before we drove the car away. I've had several inspections done in the past by the AA and all of them were absolutely fine. But this is really a 'next level' kind of report in terms of giving peace of mind that a car is in good shape. Thanks Carl!

Amazingly fast & in-depth service! My inspection was able to be carried out only hours after I had first contacted Carl (as he had a cancellation that worked out perfectly for me) and by the next morning I had his completed (and very in-depth) set of reports waiting for me in my email - along with hundreds of photos that covered every inch of the car. Top top stuff! Carl is simply amazing with his extensive inspection and reports. Purchased his top of the line EV/hybrid inspection and boy was it amazing. Every little detail about the car was put into a really consie report backed with heaps of pictures and videos. I can recommend Carl from Incar Automotive for pre-purchase inspections, especially for EVs. I had seen his website when I started looking at cars and then got his details from the team at GVI again so contacted him through his website and he was onsite the very next day to do the inspection of a Nissan Leaf 2018. As we were doing a high voltage system and mechanical inspection, he contacted me once he had concluded that the battery etc were all in good order before starting the mechanical inspection, that was great as there would be no point in continuing if the battery etc were not up to scratch. The report and pictures he provided were so detailed and there was nothing missed, especially in comparison to the simple check list you get from AA and other inspections, and well worth the price. The items he identified were also passed onto the dealer who has come to party and will ensure everything is fixed before we pick up the vehicle, so I'm sure he saved us some money down the road when we found them eventually. The report also detailed things to look out for in the future which I’ve never had from an inspection before. If you want certainty around your purchase, then take advantage of Carl’s experience to help guide your decision.

We were so impressed with our Battery Health Check from Carl at Incar Automotive for a hybrid car we were considering buying. We received a highly detailed summary report created from several pages of detailed data from multiple tests and 60+ detailed photos showing everything that was checked including the digital dashboard functions and 20+ thermal imaging pictures of the interior. If only we had known about Incar earlier, we would have definitely chosen to do a Pre-Purchase 360° Full Inspection with Carl. Unfortunately, we only heard about them after doing a Pre-purchase Inspection check with a much more well known company, where for the same price as Incar's Battery Health Check, all we received was a tick sheet of everything that was checked, a one sentence basic report summary with a couple of sentences on various aspects of the check and 7 photos. I can't recommend Incar highly enough for anyone wanting a thorough, detailed, in depth Pre-Purchase Inspection/Check.

If you are looking for a competent, experienced, eager to help and a thorough inspector for your pre-purchase car inspection, Carl should be your ultimate choice!! Upon hiring him, Carl got in touch with the dealer and arranged a time for the mobile PPI himself. He performed a very in-depth inspection, including all sorts of tests and took detailed photos of the car. He wrote up this report the same night and I had my results the next morning. He emailed the report as well as all photos and test results. Later that morning we discussed the condition of the car and came to the conclusion that it was overpriced. Therefore, I began to look for other cars and Carl offered to have a look at the online adds I forwarded to him and give his opinions. He also suggested asking dealers for the Japanese auction reports, as they give a good first impression of the conditions of a car. I found this a very helpful tip!! Incar Automotive Ltd Mechanical checks was recommended to me and Carl did a comprehensive and thorough inspection. His report was very detailed and the check took several hours. I felt confident that the car I purchased had undergone rigorous testing and met Carl's high standards. This is my second time asking Carl for his help after 3 years. His inspection & reports seems more and more comprehensive than before. Really appreciated that he can look in to very detail of the car and found something that I haven't noticed. Instead of just pass or fail, he had also put his professional recommendation to you car to make sure you can aware of your car condition as well. His banned list provides a good reference as well preventing us going to some dealers that is not trust-worthy.

The inspections were a great help! If you need peace of mind purchasing any car, I strongly recommend his services. Carl saved me from buying a Lemon from a dealership, and also offered me part of a refund! I think what Carl does is excellently thorough...just know that this is what you'll get...a very thorough report! I personally found it all a little too much to understand and come to a final decision on the car. This isn't really a critique, as who doesn't want a very thorough inspection!

Absolutely amazing! We had a pre purchase inspection done on an EV Polestar and it was worth every cent we paid. Very detailed report covering more than we expected, exceptional service, able to talk to Carl to clarify the significance of the results and any issues we needed to be aware of. Best pre inspection we have ever had and gave us confidence in our purchase; particularly as this was our first EV. From our experience it was the best money we spent prior to buying a vehicle and everything exceeded our expectations. Would not hesitate in recommending Incar Automotive.

I recently reached out to InCar Automotive to inquire about their pricing for pre purchase inspection, particularly in comparison to other providers. My intention was to understand the value offered for the higher cost. Unfortunately, my experience was not as expected. Before I could fully explain my query, Carl responded abruptly, suggesting I find service elsewhere. This interaction felt unprofessional to me, especially as a customer who values detailed information before purchasing a service. While I understand the pressures of the automotive service industry, customer engagement is essential, and I believe this aspect could be improved at InCar Automotive.

Amazing top-notch service by Carl! We texted on Sunday morning yesterday to check whether he is available in the next couple of days. After exchanging a couple of texts to provide the vendor's contact information, Carl confirmed he will conduct the inspection within an hour of our contact on a Sunday too! WOWZERS I've never had that level of service anywhere in NZ! We were expecting to wait at least a week before the inspection will be carried out - absolutely amazing! Within a couple hours, he had texted us back the general comments on the results and we've received the fully detailed inspection report (huuuuge amount of pictures & videos to review your vehicle) via email at 2.30AM last night! I used Incar for a pre-purchase inspection of Prius plugin hybrid. Because the plugin has a bigger battery I needed to be confident that it was in good condition. Carl provided a comprehensive report on the condition on the battery and the rest of the car, including a really good summary so that I was able to make a decision to go ahead based on facts and good knowledge of hybrids.
