Carl performed a pre purchase inspection of a 2021 hybrid SUV for me. His communication was excellent and amazing amount of photos exterior and interior. The report contained a lot of detail but was written in a way I could understand. He found an issue which could have caused me issues in the next WOF. I was able to get the seller to rectify this issue before finalising the purchase. I will definitely be using Carl for any future vehicle inspections.

Brilliant service by Carl at Incar Automotive. I phoned him late on Monday and he had managed to inspect the car by Tuesday evening (due to a cancellation). By Thursday morning I received the detailed inspection report as well as dozens of photos of the vehicle and images and videos from his testing software, confirming that the car was in very good nick. I doubt there is another outfit in Auckland that can do as thorough a job as Carl, especially for EVs or hybrids. Highly recommended.

Just had a pre-purchase inspection done by Carl on a 2017 Land Cruiser and am very impressed with how thorough and detailed his reports are. I've used other PPI specialist in the past and they maybe cover 1/8th of what Carl does. It's definitely an investment worth doing if you want to have peace of mind on your purchase!

Carl from Incar Automotive Ltd is a legend! I contacted him late on a Sat night and he undertook an inspection the next day on a Sun! The actual inspection took 2 hours and even the salesman commented on how thorough he is compared to everyone else. I received dozens of high quality photos and reports on more tests than anyone else advertises. Everything is then summarised into a final report and Carl took my follow up phone call when I had questions. There were a few findings with the vehicle and Carl even offered to follow up the next day because he had another job at the same car yard and was going to be there anyway. Carl did a pre-purchase inspection for me on a nissan fuga hybrid, I live in rotorua so needed a thorough check up before I made the trip up to buy. He delivered far more than I expected and gave me enough peace of mind to buy the car before I even went up to see it myself. Very very thorough. Carl will capture every tiny detail that is on your car. He pointed out over a dozen things that I couldn’t spot by looking closely with my own eyes. He also provides a comprehensive report - should you need to prove the true condition of your car during a sale, Carl’s comprehensive report details it all. He will even deal directly with the dealer and also after the inspection is done, Carl keeps in touch and makes sure that the transaction with the dealership goes alright. Carl said “if they have an issue with the report, get them to call me and I’ll sort it out. Even the dealership said Carl was friendly to deal with. when you’re buying a car for the long run, don’t skimp out with a cheap inspection, get it done properly with Carl!!! And yes, I literally found this guy just by doing a quick google search. A++ would highly recommend.

Whilst he was extremely busy he managed to fit us in quickly and then the report we received was incredibly thorough - full reports and photos. Top top stuff! Carl is simply amazing with his extensive inspection and reports. Purchased his top of the line EV/hybrid inspection and boy was it amazing. Every little detail about the car was put into a really consie report backed with heaps of pictures and videos. By the end of it I knew exactly how good the hybrid battery was, the paint job that was done on the car, and how hot/cold the climate controls in the car could get. 100/10 would definitely recommend Carl for any sort of pre purchase inspection. He's easy to reach to and responded promptly.

Carl has done a very comprehensive report for the car inspection, he'll send you hundreds of photos of every single blemish that you may not have even noticed about the car with a thorough inspection of the engine, transmission and everything else that can possibly be of concern. For anyone reading this, he does check for absolutely anything he is able to find wrong with the car and I received over 500 photos including thermal imaging of the AC vents! Wow! Comprehensive battery checks, paint checks to see if the car has been in a crash, checks I didn't even know existed. He took my call on a Saturday and performed the inspection the following Monday. I was eyeing a Lexus hybrid. It would cost me quite a lot (for me at least) so I was super careful. No upfront deposit, only until I got a pre-purchase inspection from Carl. His detailed reports were full of images, videos and information (if you are nerd enough to understand), also including a conclusion about the car. I especially care most about its hybrid battery. I really trust Carl's report on hybrid battery because it shows multiple information about the battery such as diff voltage between cells and internal cell resistant. Everything turned out great and I'll be getting the car, knowing it is a good buy. So totally recommended and would use him another time. Oh, forgot to mention, I used his service before on a Camry hybrid. He stopped the inspection after finding out that the car has a bad hybrid battery and would cost me a lot downstream. That also save me from paying for further inspection. This shows his integrity which is rare these days. Remember folks, post-purchase inspection is a bad idea, pre-purchase inspection is a good idea and pre-purchase inspection by Incarautomotive is the best idea. This is the way!

It was by coincidence that I ended up using Incar vehicle inspections as the other company I was meant to use didn't answer my calls on the inspection day, however, I must say it was the best coincidence of the year! I was surprised by how detailed his inspection was, it took him over 3 hours just for the physical inspection of a Lexus I was interested in buying. He pointed out every single flaw and issue, to the point where he even recorded practically impossible to see windscreen chips. I ended up buying the car he inspected and I was very happy with the purchase. I will most definitely be using him again and again every time I am buying a new car. I just hope I didn't set the bar too high now for him now with this review, hahahaha :D but that is because of how satisfied and surprised I was with his service!!

I was looking for a good mechanic to inspect a Mazda Axela and Carl had awesome reviews on Google. The cost was $165.. it may seem to be expensive although I went to the car dealership and Carl came in, he talked about the process and we basically did a test drive where he evaluated some points about the car. After the test drive he started looking the interior and exterior, plus checked many mechanical parts of the vehicle. This process took almost 2.5 hours and Carl was explaining everything that he found out. The final report is great in detail.. a good range of pictures from the car, plus a detailed written report about the things he has found, good and bad, what should be fixed and an explanation about all the process and technical information, so you can understand everything. Turns out the car was in a very good condition and Carl saved me some money by giving a small list of items to be changed before purchasing the vehicle. I already recommended Carl to a friend and if you are trying to find a good mechanic to inspect a vehicle.. Carl is the guy.

I am the seller, and the buyer organised a prepurchase car inspection on my car. I was really impressed with how thorough Carl was when checking the car. He ran a very detailed hybrid battery diagnosis (with video proof), he also has a gadget for for every car part! I was so impressed. I remember a few years ago, I had organised an AA prepurchase inspection; when i compare the amount of details that these two companies checked, I highly recommend Incar Automotive Ltd. over AA. To have the peace of mind when buying a second hand car (especially through private selling), I strongly suggest that you talk to this guy before making your decision. This is a photo when Carl was running the battery test, he connected the pipe to use the AC to cool down the hybrid battery. It is really interesting to see.

Amazingly fast & in-depth service! My inspection was able to be carried out only hours after I had first contacted Carl (as he had a cancellation that worked out perfectly for me) and by the next morning I had his completed (and very in-depth) set of reports waiting for me in my email - along with hundreds of photos that covered every inch of the car. He also kept me in the loop during the whole process and was on hand to explain anything that confused me about the report. Carl completed a pre-purchase inspection for me on a Toyota Aqua and I found the thoroughness of his inspection (both mechanical and the hybrid system) and the detail of the report well and truly exceeded my expectations. He identified a few minor issues needing attention that I'd never have known about otherwise. These items were clearly highlighted in the report and he'd briefed the dealer also. In an extremely fortuitous turn of events, he happened to be doing another inspection at the same car yard when I picked up my car today so I was able to thank him directly. Unprompted, Carl helped question the dealer as to whether the issues had been fixed and as I was leaving he double-checked that the hybrid battery filter had been cleaned. Upon finding it wasn't, he got out his compressed air gun and did it on the spot! Carl is a true professional and clearly cares about his customers. I unreservedly recommend his services to anyone wanting peace of mind before purchasing a car -- I'll certainly be coming back next time I'm looking for a car! Thanks Carl!

Carl did a pre-purchase inspection on a Prado for us at short notice. This was important to us as we wanted it checked before the weekend as we wanted to purchase it asap. We were replacing a stolen car so we had been 1 car down. He couldn't have been more helpful. Had a wonderful experience with Carl's inspection service yesterday. Long story short, Carl inspected 2 vehicles in total, at 2 different locations. The 1st vehicle has an major issue, he stop the inspection immediately & did not charge a full payment. He even go the extra mile for me to inspect the 2nd vehicle at the other location dispite his busy schedule. Carl is very honest. I choose option 2 EV inspection, however when he found a major issue with the vehicle he stop the inspection immediately. I believe others might have gone through the entire inspection & let you know after together with a full payment. Carl is amazing! For someone who doesn’t have much knowledge on cars in general and is investing in buying a used car is a worrying situation for me. After researching who does pre-purchase inspection, I luckily landed on Incar Automotive. Reading the reviews and knowing Carl has a whole section on his website of banned locations got me feeling like he can be truly trusted with the inspection and knowing I won’t be purchasing a lemon. He has options from petrol, diesel, EV and hybrid cars available in his services. I am beyond grateful for Carl’s services, from sending him an email regarding my booking and sending him a text message with confirmation. Once the pre-purchase inspection on the petrol car was completed I received images of things I personally missed when I went for a test drive, had a full report on the car itself and conclusion of what I need to be aware of to fully understand the full scope of the inspection. Carl is insanely thorough! I wanted to purchase a car from out-of-town and engaged Carl to do the inspection for me. He provided a very detailed report with lots of photos. He then got in touch to talk through the findings and explain the results of tests I wasn't familiar with. I then had the confidence to purchase it, despite having not seen it yet, and am very happy with the result. As an aside, the dealer I purchased from told me that he was so impressed with Carl's level of detail that he intends to use him for his next personal vehicle purchase.

Pre-purchase inspection - Hybrid Vehicle (#2) -Carl was a pleasure to deal with. When I called him about doing an EV battery test on a car I had already had received a (very average) prepurchase inspection from the Auto Shop. He was extremely accommodating and gave me his honest opinion and information about the car I was going to buy. I ended up not buying the car. I’m in Wellington and was recently looking to purchase a hybrid from Auckland because of the wider range available. I saw a few sparkling reviews for Carl so booked him in for the full EV pre-purchase inspection. He organised this with the private seller quickly. Unfortunately the car was a dud, he called me as soon as he found the fault and even discounted the invoice since there was no point in him carrying on.A couple of days later I asked him to inspect another car and he was able to attend within a couple of hours. The dealer knew him by name and was happy for him to come in. That evening I received Carl’s extremely detailed reports, which meant I was very comfortable buying the car sight unseen.I would never buy a car without using Carl again. Used Incar Automotive due to stunning reviews and he didn't disappoint, the car from the dealer was 4.5 Japan import grade and Carl with a c found issues they needed to fix. Of course with it came a thorough test log, extensive pictures and videos and finally a summary of all of the car. The time and cost saved from the fix was alone was well worth the price for the inspection, not to mention the excellent and prompt responses to follow up questions from the report. The summary also detailed things that I should potentially watch out for while getting it serviced next, not just immediate or near term fixes. These things will likely be helpful for those buying while keeping longevity in mind. Afterwards, I went ahead with the purchase with a peace of mind. Cheers, will definitely recommend to anyone buying a used car and will definitely work with Incar Automotive again for my next used car purchase.

Very thorough inspection of vehicle, HONEST and professional mechanic. The report Carl provides is delivered on time and packed with in depth information and pictures detailing information about the car. He also summarised the report to make it more understandable for me - someone with little car knowledge. He dealt with the car yard salesman directly and also helped me to communicate to them areas that needed attention on the car. He replies quickly and travels to the location of the vehicle!
