Pre Purchase Vehicle Inspections Banned list

Important Notice – Dealerships We Do Not Inspect For

In accordance with New Zealand business law, including the Fair Trading Act 1986 and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, buyers have the legal right to obtain independent, accurate information prior to purchasing a vehicle. We strongly support this right and act to protect it.

The following dealerships are either:

  • Dealers who have explicitly banned us from inspecting vehicles on their premises, or

  • Dealers we have voluntarily excluded due to prior incidents that prevented a fair, safe, or thorough inspection.

This list does not imply wrongdoing on the part of these businesses. It is published solely to protect our clients from potential conflicts of interest and to maintain the integrity of our inspections.

Our Position

In all our years of operation, we’ve encountered only one car dealer who was a qualified mechanic. This often highlights the gap between vehicle sales priorities and the engineering-level evaluations we deliver.

Incar Automotive remains committed to independence, transparency, and the safety of our clients. Our inspections are designed to reveal the true condition of a vehicle—not just what someone wants you to see.
